Security Administrators Limited (SAL) is situated at Berth 2, Kingston Wharves Limited located at Port Bustamante in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. The Company, established in September 1987 by the three wharf companies in Kingston Jamaica [Kingston Wharves Limited (KWL), Western Terminals Limited (WTL) and Kingston Terminal Operators Limited (KTO)] became a 100% subsidiary of KWL when that company completed the acquisition of the shareholdings of the other wharf companies in 2000. A new partnership developed in 2002 and SAL is now jointly owned by KWL and the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ).
Security Administrators Limited is the security provider at Port Bustamante, Kingston and provides Specialist Anti-Narcotic Security on vessels in Kingston and Montego Bay. The Company has been the leading provider of maritime security and related services in Jamaica for almost two decades and our performance has resulted in a proud record of achievement that has made us an integral part of the Shipping Industry in Jamaica and the region.
In association with the Shipping Association of Jamaica and the Port Authority of Jamaica, SAL has developed rigorous and effective security systems and procedures for Port Bustamante, Kingston, Jamaica, as well as for ships and related organizations, resulting in a high level of effectiveness in Jamaica's maritime operations.
The Company's outstanding performance in the area of anti-narcotic security has resulted in approximately 85% of all drug finds at Port Bustamante being made by SAL personnel, an achievement that has been recognized by several clients and the United States Customs who have utilized some of our training programmes and equipment.
In 2004, SAL was appointed a Recognized Security Organization by the Contracting Government in Jamaica (The Port Authority of Jamaica) and is authorized to conduct Port Facility Security Assessments (PFSAs) and prepare Port Facility Security Plan (PFSPs), in keeping with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
